For the story to progress, the player should open new shelters and clear it by beating the boss. The player can work on the farm, explore the cave or fish, capture monsters and many more. Mist shelters him in the hope that he would work on her farm. Mist, the landowner, finds him outside her home and give him food and water. He is starving and dehydrated, and because of that, he collapses in front of the landowner's house. The game starts with our hero Raguna roaming in the town. The game takes place in Kardia, a small city on the eastern tip of the Adonia continent surrounded by farmland. You can also build enhancements to your house and farm. You are playing the role of a farmer and have to grow different types of fruits and vegetables and sell them to get money to produce other products. You have to look after over a time throughout the different seasons. The premise of harvest moon is that you play as a character and are given land that you have to turn into a farm.
